WIS Accountancy celebrates it’s 10th year anniversary this year. Started by three friends as a part time venture, WIS grew mainly due to our client support and our dedicated staff.

To mark this milestone, we decided to help those who are underprivileged. We organised a meal donation for two orphanages and successfully carried out a blood donation campaign. We are also very humbled to say that we managed to setup a library at a school in a rural part of Sri Lanka. Students of this school were mainly from deprived backgrounds.

We refurbished the building with adequate furniture and much needed decoration. We then requested a list of books required from the school principal and supplied them brand new. Each of these books were donated on behalf of our clients who have been with us for the last 10 years. As a dedication, the books carry their names on the cover page. In addition, we also collected old books from staff members, family and friends.

The library was declared opened by Ifthikar Mohamed on his recent visit to Sri Lanka.

Finally, we decided to dedicate this library to our dear friend, Siva Kotra. Siva was one of our initial clients who not only helped us increase our client database with referrals, but was also a trusted advisor on technology and guided us in this aspect. Unfortunately, Siva succumbed to his illness and lost his life at a young age. He was a true ambassador of WIS and his legacy lives on in our hearts.

WIS plans to set up a library each year in the rural areas of Sri Lanka and India. If you want to get involved in these project, please do get in touch.
